The Friends of Semmes is a nonprofit organization composed of area residents working together to organize and provide family oriented activities for the Semmes community. The following community events are organized by the Friends of Semmes: Annual Christmas Events, Azalea Festival, Azalea Pageant, Azalea Festival 5K Run, Azalea Festival Car Truck & Bike Show as well as an Annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Several long-time residents of Semmes got together during the Summer of 2002 to discuss having a Christmas Parade in Semmes... and that's how Friends of Semmes began. The group grew to about 25 individuals who routinely met every Thursday evening during the Fall of 2002, planning the first Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade for our community. The group was incorporated as a nonprofit in May 2003.

In 2011 Floorz N More began sponsoring the Festivals Car, Truck & Bike Show. With the Help of Hickory Pit Too we hosted approximately 60 vehicles showcasing some brilliant GEMS for the community. Awards were given out in three categories, Car, Truck & Bike voted on by 25 cent donations from the General Public with the MOST money raised being awarded Best in Show! Proceeds from Food, Registration and Voting are used in General areas with Education & Promotion of Organ Donation and Transplantation. Participants and the General Public are encouraged to add their name to the State's National Registry. You can register to be an organ donor online by visiting
